Grief--can come in many forms--death, job loss, divorce--and the list goes on.
What do I know about grief?
More than I wish I did.
Divorce: As a Christian, one of the hardest losses (up to that point) was realizing that the best thing I could do for my children was to divorce their father. This was a death--of a marriage, a dream, and my self-worth. This was not what God intended...but we were both so very flawed. Fifteen years..I conceded that I had failed.
If you've been through this or are going through it--you may understand.
Loss of a Child: My son died by suicide at the young age of 24. He left behind 2 beautiful daughters. He struggled with bipolar for years before taking his life.
Child Estrangement: My daughter has struggled with anxiety and depression. She felt abandoned by her father, her grandmother (she passed away), and her brother. She continues to struggle with life on a daily basis. Who should she blame? Who can she get close to? She's admitted to being afraid to be close to me, so she 'disappears' for months at a time. I pray daily that God will be with her and try to keep the door open for her.
So--what do I know about grief?
More than I ever thought I would.
Through the it all, the Lord has been faithful!
He continues to steer me, guide me, and help me be at peace. There are times where I struggle, those are the times when I need HIS guidance more than ever....
